1. Introduction & Commitment to Clinical Calm

Welcome to Pause ("we," "our," or "us"). We built Pause with a core psychological design philosophy: to provide mindful interventions without exploiting user attention or extracting behavioral data for advertising. Your privacy is treated with the same clinical care and calm respect as your mental well-being.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimal data strictly necessary to operate your personalized intervention plans and daily reflections:

• Account Credentials: Your email address, used exclusively for secure OTP (One-Time Password) authentication via encrypted AWS SES channels.
• Intervention Plans: Target application keys (e.g., social media or video apps), psychological triggers, and your chosen mindfulness actions ("If-Then" plans).
• Urge Event Logs: Anonymized timestamps, source types (automatic intervention vs. manual check-in), feeling states, and outcome choices (whether you paused or continued).
• Daily Check-in Reflections: Mood scores (1 to 5 scale), selected feeling tags, and optional private notes.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is utilized solely to power your personalized application experience, compute your 7-day mindful progress metrics, and generate weekly psychological insights. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information or behavioral logs with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party analytics trackers.

4. Data Storage, Security & Token Lifecycle

All data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS) and encrypted at rest in our secure database infrastructure. Session authentication relies on short-lived JWT access tokens accompanied by rotating refresh tokens stored securely in encrypted device memory (SharedPreferences/Keychain).

5. User Control & Absolute Account Deletion

You maintain sovereign control over your data. You may export or modify your intervention plans at any time directly through the mobile application. Should you choose to terminate your use of Pause, activating the Delete Account feature in your Profile settings will permanently and irreversibly erase your account, email address, intervention plans, daily check-ins, and urge logs from our active databases.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect architectural improvements or regulatory compliance. Any substantive updates will be communicated clearly within the application interface prior to taking effect.
