1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the Pause mobile application or related web services, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any provision of these terms, please discontinue your use of the service and delete your account.
2. Purpose of the Application
Pause is a psychological self-regulation and digital habit intervention tool designed to assist users in managing compulsive application usage through 30-second mindful interruptions ("If-Then" interventions). Pause is a supportive productivity and well-being tool; it is not a medical device and does not provide clinical medical advice, psychiatric diagnosis, or therapy.
3. User Accounts & OTP Security
To access Pause, you must authenticate using a valid email address via One-Time Password (OTP) verification. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your email account and any active session tokens. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that engage in automated scraping, abuse of our email verification APIs, or denial-of-service attacks against our server infrastructure.
4. Intellectual Property Rights
All software architecture, UI design tokens, visual aesthetics ("Calm Clinical" styling), proprietary logos, icons, text, and algorithms embedded within the Pause platform remain the exclusive intellectual property of Pause Inc. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the application for individual self-regulation.
5. Limitation of Liability
The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Under no circumstances shall Pause Inc. or its developers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your usage of or inability to use the application, including any interruptions to third-party mobile apps.
6. Account Termination & Cancellation
You may terminate your agreement with us at any time by exercising the Delete Account functionality in the application profile settings. Upon deletion, all associated data is purged from our production databases in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
7. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with standard international software contracting laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
